Dan Eisner has never been one to accept the status quo, especially when it comes to how Canadians get their mortgages.

As the Founder and CEO of True North Mortgage, he has spent nearly two decades reshaping the mortgage landscape, driven by a simple belief: Canadians with good credit deserve better rates, clear answers, and a simple process.

In 2006, Dan opened his first True North Mortgage retail store in downtown Calgary, with a bold plan to combine the trust associated with doing business at a bank branch with the flexibility of a broker. His salaried-broker model, delivered through storefronts to provide unbiased, friendly, client-focused service, was the first of its kind — and Dan worked right alongside his team to help clients solve their mortgage needs.

Dan set out to expand True North's store footprint and service nationwide, adding online and phone access over the years. Today, True North is an industry-leading brokerage, built on high-volume lender relationships and an unwavering commitment to innovation.

In 2016, Dan's obsession with offering better mortgages led to the creation of THINK Financial, True North's in-house, CMHC-approved lender — another first for a mortgage brokerage. To date, True North Mortgage has funded more than $30B in mortgages across Canada.

Before launching True North Mortgage, Dan earned his MBA from the Richard Ivey School of Business and began his career in IT consulting — a foundation that has helped shape the company's tech-forward approach to broker services and mortgage lending.

Today, Dan continues to push boundaries in the mortgage space, leading a growing team who are passionate about helping Canadians save more with less stress.
